Founded in 1933, The Community Volunteer Fire Department of Mahaffey has provided Fire and other emergency related coverage to the Mahaffey area. Now covering an area of 143 square miles consisting of Mahaffey, Newburg, New Washington, and Burnside Boroughs as well as Bell, Burnside, Chest, Ferguson, and Greenwood Townships. We are a 100% Volunteer Fire Department covering emergency & public services calls that range from trees blocking roadways, to structure fires and vehicle rescue calls as well as outside fires and mutual aid to other fire departments. Our department is a 501c3 non-profit organization that depends on support from the communities that we serve as well as our on-line raffles and in-person fundraisers. Our department consists of an average of 15 active firefighters as well as active social members who assist in various ways. We are always looking for additional volunteers to help in any way that you can.
